How We Met 💕

We met online and started talking in mid-February 2024. Thanks to Chad's friend Laura, we're together today. After I accidentally left Chad on read, Laura encouraged him to message me again, and thankfully he did.

Because I was visiting my friend Becca for two weeks, we talked on the phone for a little over a month before meeting in person. Chad called me every single day, and we got to know each other one conversation at a time. On March 27, 2024, we finally met at the Beach House in Hudson, Wisconsin, along the St. Croix River. Chad made curry chicken salad for a picnic in his car and, in his nerves, forgot silverware and ate with his hands. We took a walk, then I went back to his house and met his mom. We've been together pretty much every day since.

The Proposal 💍

On our one-year anniversary, March 27, 2025, Chad recreated our very first date and took me back to the Beach House where we met. He made the same curry chicken salad, and we had another little picnic at the park.

There, he proposed with my grandma's ring, set with my great-great-grandmother's diamond. A stranger saw the moment and kindly offered to take photos for us. The weather was perfect, and we took the same stroll we had taken a year earlier, this time engaged. Afterward, we toured through town, he surprised me with flowers and chocolates, and we celebrated with a lovely dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Lindey's Steakhouse.
